On July 1, 2008, the American Lung Association of New York State and the American Lung Association of the City of New York consolidated to form the American Lung Association (ALA) of New York. By combining the resources and experience of regional offices across the state, the ALA of New York has maximized the educational programs, research initiatives and advocacy campaigns that promote the lung health of all New Yorkers.   More...

Events


Lung Association Day at the Ballpark -- On August 24, 2008, the Staten Island Yankees are supporting lung health by hosting a fun-filled day for families and children.  Join us at the ballpark for fun, sun, and baseball.

The Life & Breath Awards Gala -- On November 13, 2008, join the American Lung Association of New York for its annual Life & Breath Awards Gala to honor outstanding contributors to lung health.  This year’s program will feature dinner and dancing, along with an awards presentation and a live auction.

COPD Conference & Patient Caregiver Symposium -- On October 18, 2008, the American Lung Association of New York and the New York State Thoracic Society are hosting an informative seminar focusing on diagnosing and treating COPD.  


Asthma & Lung Disease Walks -- On May 3, 2008, hundreds joined us on Long Island and in Rochester to walk together and spread awareness about asthma and lung disease, and raise much needed funds for research so we can find a cure.  On May 31, 2008, the BREATHE NYC: Asthma Walk featured 4,500 walkers, volunteers and corporate teams from the five boroughs walking to take action against lung disease.  Our Westchester County Walk took place on June 8, 2008.
